David Carmichael is a retired Green Beret. David joins me to discuss his memoir, Gray Man: A Life Lived Under the Radar. David recounts his childhood as a missionary’s son in Mali, living in a mud house near Timbuktu, and the rugged resilience he developed while attending a distant boarding school. He reflects on how those early hardships prepared him for a distinguished 23-year military career, spanning from enlistment to becoming a Special Forces officer and serving on the Korean DMZ.
